Baden: Noble Grapes

Baden

Noble Grape Varieties

About 10,000 grape varieties are cultivated from wild vines. Ca. 2,500 grape varieties are registered worldwide, but only a few of them are of great importance. These quality vines are called cépages nobles in France and known in Germany as noble vines or noble grape varieties. In addition to the flavour, the vine must match the soil, that´s why there are different types of wine in the wine-growing areas.
