Like a peninsula, Minheim is surrounded by a loop of the Moselle. On the left side lies Piesport with the districts Reinsport, Niederemmel and Müstert. On the right side you can see a barrage and the towns Wintrich, Kesten, Monzel.

Bold Minheimer citizens had built it in a night and fog campaign during the time of National Socialism.

1930: Banishment of the crucifixes from the classrooms of the village school was preceded.

Minheim is often called "Sonneninsel" or sunny island because it is surrounded like a peninsula by a loop of the Moselle.

The Way of the Cross is a winding, narrow path that leads past the rock and the 14 cross stations. You need about 20 minutes to go up there without haste.

Since the Cross was built in 1930, some of its constructors did not return home from World War II.
