Gaius Iulius Caesar, he conquered the surroundings about 55 BC . In his "Commentarii de bello gallico" he left us a work about the Gallic Wars.

Constantine the Great resided in Trier from 306 to 316. From here he began his struggle for supremacy in the Roman Empire. He made Trier the seat of government of the Western Roman Empire.

Attila the Hun was 451 in Trier, during his struggle against Rome.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe was for the first time in Trier in August 1792.

Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte was 1804 in Trier.

Buffalo Bill, the famous wild west hero, made a stop with his wild western show in Trier on June 16, 1906.
