Thanks to the vineyard "Zeller Schwarze Katz" is Zell a world famous town. With about 16,000 people and 4,000,000 vines, it is after Piesport with about 413 hectares of vineyards, the second largest winegrowing village on the Moselle. The Celts settled already here. They called the villages "Merl" and " Kaimt". Zell derives from the Latin "cella" which means cellar or reloading point. On the way to the Collis tower you have a beautiful view on the picturesque cemetery complex with two towers, the old town and the related districts. In Zell you will enjoy a very beautiful landscape. A fantastic view from the Prinzen tower is my further recommendation.
